A PRO-LIFE DEMOCRAT'S CHALLENGE!

To all you Democrats and Republicans(and others) running for public office this fall, I offer you a challenge!

As a Democrat who's pro-life, I cannot elect candidates that claim to be for working families and the poor, yet will not protect the traditional values of our country-the defense of the right to life, the traditional meaning of marriage between one man and one woman, and the trampling of personal liberty.  I cannot also morally justify electing Republicans who say they're pro-life, yet cut programs for the poor and the disabled.

My Uncle talked to me once about the need for social justice.  These Republicans claim to be pro-life, yet they cut spending on programs that aid poor families and give tax breaks to the wealthy, while Democrats have passed legislation to help the poor and the working class; yet they won't protect most fundamental right of all-the right to life.  I'm supposed to look at the "seamless garment" of social justice, yet I believe that this issue is #1.  Without it, you can help fix up housing, education, jobs or health care.

You know, Senator Edward Kennedy said that "Health care is the right of every American."  I agree, but not  if it subsidizes abortion and artificial birth control against my will, and the will of millions of Americans.  And I can't stand it if it's going to wreck the elderly and disabled, especially here in Massachusetts, if ballot question 2, the one allowing doctor assisted suicide passes this November(I'm planning to vote no, and I urge everyone else to do the same).

And by the way, how can the Republicans be pro-life if they won't do anything to overturn Roe Vs. Wade?

This is a dilemma that faces me every two years when the elections come around, especially when a Democrat buys the dictum that being pro-life is a liability to being elected.  It's not a liability; it's an asset!

So here's my challenge to all the Republican candidates, especially you, Mr. Romney & Mr. Brown.

If you claim to be pro-life, then act it.  Start raising taxes for the wealthy. Cut taxes for the poor and middle class.  Stop accepting money from oil companies and tell them to clean up their act!  Don't cut programs that help poor mothers and their children.  Keep funding Medicare and Medicaid for elderly and disabled people.  Increase fuel assistance for the poor and those who are facing family crises.  Start walking the talk by embracing the middle class and start helping them out.

And to you Democrats, especially you, Mr. Obama and Ms. Warren.

Stop supporting Planned Parenthood and help find alternatives to abortion.  Stop compromising your personal beliefs for the sake of political expediency.  Overturn this Obamacare crap and start putting together healthcare that's ethical, moral and affordable for all.  After all, healthcare is the right of every American, as Senator Kennedy said.  Start increasing aid for Seniors and disabled people.  Stand up for God's definition of marriage: One man and one woman.  Protect the conscience rights of those who refuse to participate in anything that involves terminating the life of the unborn or an elderly or disabled person.

And to both Democrats and Republicans, help to abolish capital punishment.  Support medical research that doesn't involve embryonic stem cells or cloning.  Help stimulate job growth and restart manufacturing industries.  Develop new sources for energy that involve the wind, the sun and the sea.  Help finance reforms in education and housing.  Pass laws that guarantee equal pay for equal work for every man and woman in this land, regardless of race, creed, color, age, national origin, political persuasion, physical or mental handicap or religious belief. Make corporate retailers close on Sundays and all major holidays so that their workers can spend quality time with their families(essential businesses and services such as drug stores and convenience stores can stay open)..  Fund programs for developing science and technology for all students.  And work to give first class citizenship to all.

And if you can possibly do so, please help overturn Roe Vs. Wade and protect the life of the unborn.  End same sex marriage and promote the values of the traditional family.  And protect our religious freedom.

Please accept the challenge and help turn this country around so we can once again be, as the Pledge of Allegiance says, "one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all."  I thank you.

P.S. One last thing, let's allow prayer in schools again and allow Christians to celebrate their respective holidays without any interference from political correctness groups like the ACLU.

I've given you the challenge.  Are you ready to accept it?

And one more thing, folks.  If you are a resident of Massachusetts, remember that Question 2, the Assisted Suicide Bill, is a flawed and poorly written idea.  If this passes, we shall have a Pandora's box open like the one they've got in Oregon.  Life is not to be destroyed, but cherished.  Please join me in voting No on election day.

Giod bless and thank you.
