THE FIRST POST!

As a Democrat, I have always believed that the Democratic party has been a party for the working family. And as a Catholic, I have always believed in the Church's stand that abortion is morally evil. Unfortunately, when Roe V. Wade was passed in 1973, many Catholics started voting pro-life. However, many Catholic politicians who are Democrats have rejected the sanctity of human life for the sake of political expediency. And I have found it a moral dilemma when I vote at the polls each election tide.
Well, as a Catholic, a Democrat, and a pro-life person, I believe that the Democrats have abandoned the most important fundamental right of them all in return for getting votes. And I can't stand silent anymore! That's why I've put together this blog. It's my hope that there are people like me-both Democrat and Republican-who are disenfranchized by the fact that our politicians refuse to take a stand against abortion and other life issues, preferring instead to concentrate on "issues" such as housing, medicare, education, the war in Iraq, and the like.
Lest I be accused of being a one-issue voter, I will say this: the right to life is THE most important issue of them all. Without it, you don't have education, housing, women's rights, etc. I believe that human life is sacred and should be protected 100%. No exceptions, no compromises, no apologies. When these pro-choicers say, "A woman should have the right to choose," they are actually saying, "they have a license to kill."
We may all be born with the right to choose(that is one of the foundations of our country), but no one has the right to choose to do what is evil. And abortion is evil; it takes the life of the unborn child and destroys it. Think about how much the world would be better if those millions of aborted children would have been born. They could have made the world a better place, but they're gone now. These children could have grown up to cure illness, build new buidlings, or create new forms of art and music.
And if they tell you, "Life begins at birth, not before," they're wrong. The moment a child is conceived in the womb, it is the beginning of life. As scripture says, "Before you were conceived, I knew you." And that's why I wanted to speak up for the unborn. And not only for those who are yet to be born, but also for those who are in the final stages of life, those who are handicapped, and those who live on the margins of society.
And if you hear any politician who says he or she is pro-choice, they are actually pro-death. They're helping to build the culture of death which is destroying our government and our freedoms. For all of these reasons, I've decided to start this blog dedicated to promoting "the Gospel of Life," including an end to abortion and preserving and protecting the rights of the unborn, as well as the elderly and the disabled.
I invite you to read this blog and let me know how you feel about it. And let's do all we can to promote "The Culture Of Life." Remember, pro-choice equals pro-death. I hope our politicians are taking heed, especially those who are Catholics like myself.
Thank you for your time.
